In the shogi club, children from 7 to 17 years old are learning how to play Japanese chess.

Our organization has a wealth of experience in holding mass children’s tournaments in various logic games and a good infrastructure for holding such competitions. Every year during the Christmas holidays, around 200 children chess players take part in team competitions among chess clubs in the city of Moscow.

In March 2016, Yoshiharu Habu visited Moscow with a team of Japanese students who took part in four matches in chess and shogi with students of Moscow State University and with other amateurs from Moscow. On March 7, 2016, at the Center of Children’s Creativity “Na Vadkovskom”, Habu played a game of simultaneous shogi on 20 boards and won all games. The great Japanese master was confronted by the shogi players from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus with ranks from 3 dan FESA and below.

Center of Children’s Creativity “Na Vadkovskom” is the main venue for holding tournaments in shogi with the FESA rating in Moscow. Both children and adults take part in the competition. The frequent guests of our tournaments are the shogi players from the city of Minsk.

Students of Moscow shogi-club take an active part in Japanese chess tournaments in the capital of the Republic of Belarus, Minsk and in the European Junior Championships. In 2019, a competition was held in the Polish city of Wroclaw, in which Denis Titov took the 1st place in the U15, and Ivan Mishin took the 3rd place in U12.

The Center of Creativity “Na Vadkovskom” is a multi-level educational and leisure complex that solves the tasks of additional education of children, adolescents and young people.
